Got me a commie gun.

Yugo, by serial prefix a 1980 gun, near the end of their run. Classic Firearms VG Hand Select and it shows. Many of these late guns were made and stored away, I would not be surprised in the least if this one was never used before ending up here.

I paid way more than the dudes buying Chinese ones in the 1980s, but less than it's probably worth.

Stripper clips and an extended buttpad incoming. Need moar 7.62x39!

Link?

Link to what?

Where I can get one of these!

Well, they are showing out of stock. Not sure if they are ever getting more. I got mine via a transfer from a young guy who bought it a couple months ago but needs college $$$. I recently passed on a Norinco for about $50 more and now am glad I did.

Cleaned the cosmoline out of that SKS. Good thing too, the firing pin channel was completely gummy with that crap. It clearly had been fired, there was some light fouling on the piston and bolt face, but I don't know if the factory blows off a mag just to make sure the thing works. It couldn't have been much more than that.

Here I am worried that my SKS might not be LNIB :rofl9:

Refinished a almost-new Ruger M1 Carbine 10/22 stock, sand papered, tung oil, 0000 steel wool, rinse and repeated 4 times over 4 days.
Final coat (of 3) of Renaissance wax now drying.

Also had 44 magnum day yesterday at the range which I had all to myself.
Marlin 1894 44 mag
Dan Wesson 44 mag
Ruger 44 mag Carbine.

Shoulder is a bit tender today!

Finished up the last of 3 coats of Renaissance wax on top of 4 coats of Tung oil (no, not all at once!) on a new Ruger 10/22 M1 Carbine today.
Then added an old skool 1979 Leopold Golden Ring 3x9 scope. 2 shots at 25 yards to dial the scope in.

Ordered a Sig Romeo5 red dot from PSA for my .300 BLK upper. Reviews looked good and the price wasn't bad ($130 shipped), so I figured I'd try it. I'm interested to see how it stacks up against the other red dots in its class that I already own: Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot, Vortex SPARC AR, and Holosun Micro Sight. I wouldn't be surprised if they're all made in the same factory in China. And I hate to admit it, but my cheapo Bushnell TRS-25 has the sharpest dot clarity of all my red dots, and it has been rock solid in holding zero.

Left work early and had a great range day with Rutilate and his family. :thumbsup2:

I had a real bonding experience with my Sig P320 in .45. This was especially meaningful because she started life being abused and neglected by her horrible former owner. After I rescued her from that household, she was adjudicated physically defective, and flown back to New Hampshire for invasive corrective surgery.

But now she's back with me, and she's happy in my hands. She rang steel consistently, and seemed to enjoy doing it. thumbsup
