Did some grip repair this week. These 1950s spec S&W targets came with a poorly repaired chip in one panel, and a missing corner out of the inside of the other. I don't have true "before and after" but the first pic is where I did the grip swap before the repairs, then the repaired corner after an application of tung oil, then the true finished product.

Barreled up a Savage Target action in preparation of the 2023 Prairie Dog trip.

Using a new barrel manufacturer for this one.

26 inch "Urbanrifleman" Savage Large Shank Prefit

STAINLESS
7 twist
223 ISSF 168 FB

223 Palma reamer optimized for 75 to 90 grain bullets.

This should be a great shooter.

I did also find a few more actions ready to put together...

There must be a 12-step program, somewhere, that can help people like this.

There is but, the peer pressure to shoot five shot groups is overwhelming.

Four-shot groups are a good thing. But that shot #5 always seems to take a little detour off to the side . . . .

Finished up the project I started a few days ago.
I think it turned out great....

7 twist, 26" straight profile HEAVY barrel.
223 ISSF 168 FB
223 Palma reamer optimized for 75 to 90 grain bullets.

Can't wait to shoot it in 15 hours...LOL

Only when you think about it like a gallon of gas each time you pull the trigger.

Well if your rifle project doesn't work out, your barrel could always be used to support the entire Fremont bridge...
