He's an old school, semi-retired gunsmith with a lot of past experience working on Smith 3rd gen pistols from back in the day when they were still being actively produced and were widely used by police departments throughout the country.
He's been very straightforward and easy to work with. Turnaround time was only about 3 weeks which is basically awesome for an out of area gunsmith with a solid reputation.
Reduced both DA and SA pull weights, stoned and polished internals for smoother action, polished the feed ramp, and crown/muzzle work for improved accuracy. Looking forward to getting the gun back and taking it to the range this coming weekend.
Looking forward to seeing how the action work turned out. Keep us posted! Roger that. Gun arrived back home via FedEx yesterday. All in all the smith did an awesome job on this gun, easy to work with, reasonable prices, and fast turnaround. It's been crazy around the house and at work. Planning to post up a gunsmith review thread with pictures soon.

Been a busy week gun wise. Cashed in a bunch of corporate award points for Bass Pro gift cards recently. Yesterday afternoon got the call and picked up another Smith 642 j-frame and a Walther PDP full-size with 4.5" barrel.
The j-frame is like any other j-frame out there. I'll take it to the local smith this week for a duty tune and get an Altamont wood grip ordered to replace the stock synthetic grips. Not a fan of synthetic grips for pocket carry as they can screw up your draw by sticking to the pocket liner on jeans or shorts.
The PDP is freaking awesome so far. The trigger is excellent and not just excellent for a striker fire but excellent by any standard. Excellent ergonomics. Dying to get this out to the range. I probably need another 9mm pistola like I need a hole in my head although I was really intrigued by the PDP when I saw the Walther work-up on their website. Since it was basically a free gun (courtesy of our corporate recognition program) I figured what the heck and just bought it. I've already got a couple 9mm suppressor host pistols so just planning to shoot the PDP for fun at the range with little or no modifications needed.
Also have a Ruger 10/22 Target Lite model arriving today. This one slated to install co-witnessed Tech Sights and Bushnell TRS-125 red dot for Project Appleseed and overall fun shooting.

I am hesitant to manufacture anything I cant keep if this does not get profitable I will not be continuing. I have discovered it takes $$ to make $$ in this gig. Now selling post samples upon closing an SOT is supposedly good profit exactly 1 time lol

Ordered an Aero pistol upper to replace the Guntec one I haven't been all that happy with. For one, I had to enlarge the front pin hole as it wasn't far enough forward. Two, no LRBHO.
Kind of sucks that I won't be able to sell the Guntec, but it'll end up as just one more part in a drawer I suppose.

Fondled a Taurus TX22 Competition. Interesting, a bit unusual, and downright ugly with the empty optics plate. Magazine felt like flimsy plastic. I think it's because it is flimsy plastic. But, how do they hold up (the gun and the mags)? Later, stopped by another shop that I hadn't visited in a couple months. A couple Mini-14s, but there was this 870 Wingmaster, ...... action smooth as butter, bluing looked great all over, beautiful walnut furniture. I had to put it back before I looked too much more into it.

I transferred one and have been trying to order one since.

Just posted up a gunsmith review in the General Firearms Discussion section with a description of how the work turned out (awesome), pictures, and a recommendation for Mr. Jacobson.

So I bought a lot of 6 60% lowers here recently. Got them all milled out at work last week. Problem is, my cutter pulled on the last one, twice! I did a repair. Forgot to get before and in process pics. First couple are after I filled, and re milled the Belzona patch. Dimensionally it is still tits, and I am not worried at all about the trigger spring resting on it. Pretty impressed with how it came out really. Figured it was already junk, I couldn't mess it up anymore. Now its done. Its just a Krylon touch up with what I had. Not all of it is perfect, but it will function and most prople shouldn't even notice once its assembled.
