If we could get six across, we could clear out some more of those blackberries.

Hmmm...
It`s not terribly hard to cut more away, the thing is from where it is now there`re a bunch of old scotchbroom plants and young tree branches tossed into the bushes to get them out of the way. The good news is that the plants are mostly really young and fleshy right now, easy cutting.

20 boxes of these magically appeared for me to try to explain whence they came

I think you missed my point.

This is the kind of brush-clearing we'd do:

He means that with a sufficient level of firepower and personnel, the bushes would be eradicated with minimal labor.

EDIT

I don`t think that`s a good idea, the house is behind that lol.
If we want a wider firing line it`s analog or nothing.

Shot my PSA 9mm. Accurate and 100% reliable. Very pleased. I put a 3 lug adapter on it. Waiting for my Octane/Omega 3 lug mount.

The mods got me thinking. Today I began implementation of my several-step plan to widen the firing line to allow at least one more guest shooter at a time. Part 1 was planning, and 2 was physically cutting away the first section while part 3 was cutting away the second. As you can see from my earlier posts there was a kind of hollow in the sideline along the brush wall. I wanted to start there so I stepped as far into that hollow as I could and began cutting away towards the firing line. After a while it had opened up and I cleaned it a bit with a rake and lawnmower. Part two was doing the same thing in the opposite direction, this time with the dog visiting because he wouldn`t stop crying at the door. I cut that away and mowed it too to clean it up more after stomping down the soft earth. Should be a few weeks till grass takes root and holds it together better so I think I can manage till then. The first pic is from the firing line which will be cut to fit in the near future. Second is from the berm looking back and third shows what exactly was cut, the grass shows where the hollow was.

Not impressive.

"Killed a bear."
Getting there.

"Killed a bear with a knife."
Impressive.

Actually killed our third depredation bear in 30 days. 1 more tag left and 28 days left to fill it. The Aero M5 E worked like a charm. Double lung shot, no meat damage to speak of, (behind the shoulder, not through) and he only ran 30 yards before his death bawl. 145lbs, so not a big guy. Waiting for Yogi to show up.

Ordered a 9mm AR Glock-style lower from PSA. It'll be one of two Form 1 SBRs that I file in June. :alcapone:
