Damn, I'm first up to bat at one of your questions, and I don't know. Guessing it ended sometime around the 1700's. B) 1730. Went on for awhile, but don't recall hearing about it along with the Revolutionary War.
My son is a history buff and would know, but I'm not going to wake him up. Hahaha
