None of this stuff is dated. WHEN did they decide to do this?

Cook County has had a ban on high capacity mages since at least 2014 (probably earlier), so if they've done this all along, whatever.

If they just started this after recent events, then their explanation seems untruthful.

Today.

Ba babb babababah BULLSHIT.

They would have made a press announcement about it. Nah, they are going to play it that way, but they are hedging their bets.

As I said before he was elected, and I am doubling down now. Cheeto-in-chief will bring about gun control. As all big gun control comes from Republicans.

Well there goes any possible credibility...

Federally, all/most gun control has been enacted by Dems. The Clinton era (he's a Dem if you didn't know) 1994 AWB was sunset (reversing it in 2004) under Bush. Overwhelmingly, GOP appointed SCOTUS voted in favor of the individual right in Heller, and Dems voted against the individual right. Dems call for gun control, and frequently run on it. Look at Obama and Clinton. Big parts of their goals. Hillary said Heller needs to be repealed.

Some more school for you - while not federal Presidents, nearly every blue / Dem state has more gun control and worse gun laws than red/GOP states. If you care to have it proven, I'll gladly oblige. Dem strongholds like CA, NY, NJ, IL, HI, OR, WA all rank as worst for gun rights in the nation.

If you honestly think the Dems are good for gun rights, and the GOP is bad for gun rights, you really don't know the basics on this topic.

No. My fucking point is that you have too many rollover fucktards that are elected under the guise of "R". Bush Sr. and Reagan both did horrid things to our rights.

Not having the friction of a real line to push against (Us/Them D/R) causes stupid shit to get through. Stupid shit like Hughes and E.O.s that someone done did fuckup on.

Very few are actually for your second amendment rights, as soon as they see the winds blowing they will lean. Just take a look at the current clusterfuck we have.

And yet I'd wager Trump has done 100000x more than YOU have for gun rights.
* Defeated Hillary Clinton- blocking Dems from what we'd certainly face today. A 5-4 liberal anti-gun SCOTUS, and a full court press attack on gun rights.
* Appointed Gorsuch, who is going to almost surely be pro-gun.
* First POTUS to speak at the NRA conference in decades.
* The Trump ATF has reversed itself on shouldering pistol stocks.
* Roll back Obama era gun laws or rules such as preventing vets with mental issues from having guns. I think also a rollback on ammo bans.

And you thank him by mocking him. Well done.

* So could a lump of butter.
* You just made two points out of one.
* Yes, that wasn't pandering as fuck.
* You mean something that is the literal least it could do? Well done.
* That is one I will give you. However that one would have been shot down in court eventually. I will say he shaved that off by a good few years, and has saved the tax payers good money fighting that. No doubts there.

I will mock whoever dumbfuck is in that seat when they do stupid shit, like I always do. Especially when he is a flip flop. At least a D would have been a known enemy.

The dems in the 30s and especially FDR were not conservative. Not by a country mile. I don't know which history book you are reading but you ought to get a refund.

"Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm -- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves." – T.S. Eliot

"The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - St. George Tucker

A careful definition of words would destroy half the agenda of the political left and scrutinizing evidence would destroy the other half. - Thomas Sowell

"To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow...

For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding." - Jeff Snyder

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

If it's truly a regulation thing then I totally understand, because some of those things are a fine of up to $10,000 per unit kind of stuff.
But I agree a place like that with that kind of restriction it's time to up and move.

Probably because except for possibly the first two years, IF the opposite party was in the White House before, the other party will take control of Congress. Trump has Republicans in congress because obama was president, Obama had two years because bush jr was president,Clinton had two years of democrats controlling congress because because Bush was in office.

Having said that I would not be surprised if Trump more than supported more control. He's not a conservative. He might be a modern day republican, but he's all about himself. Like most every politician. There's a reason that I can't stand politicians. The people who want that much power over others should be the last ones to have that power.
