Issaquah Sportsman's Club now the topic of discussion. People are unnerved by the sound of gunfire that has issued from the range for 81 years.

Here's a thought. Since the gun range has been there since 1937 why not relocate the schools instead :ROFLMAO:
Or how about relocating the snowflake parents to California.

This reminds me of S.I.R. or Pacific Raceways.
Quote:
Pacific Raceways is a legendary motorsports facility located in Kent, WA. The family-owned business opened in 1960 to provide a safe, controlled environment for racing.

It was built at that location because nothing else was even close to it.
Every time someone would build or buy a house that was somewhat close, the new owners would try to have the track closed down.
The judge always sided with the track. "They were there first, go pound sand."
I can't see why the gun range should be any different.

Pretty sure I can hear the cars and trucks driving I-5.

I'm unnerved.

Move I-5.

Oh and that Train down by the water?

Scary.

Move it!

I cant tell if either are contained on the path they're intended or if they're coming through my house.

I saw this on the news last night. I couldn't fucking believe it!
I haven't been to that range since last year but the high school next to it was JUST BUILT CLOSER to the range...
Now after 80+ years the range is evil? These god damn liberals need to go back to Commiefornia! :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

While they still operate as a track, they didn't come out unchanged. The operation hours have reduced, a noise level implemented and a required number of "quiet" days have been the result of the new neighbors.

Airports have been fighting new neighbors as they move in. For years and years.

I can hear 410 and 167 from my house. I want them shut down.

One of these days, I may join up. It’s just not in the cards for me right now.

I got to shoot there once a couple years ago and loved it!! Well, except for the stairs. :)

Paul Bunyan in Pierce County had the same issue, houses went up in adjacent neighborhoods and they built a Fred Meyer on top of the big hill behind the range.
They took it to court saying it was a safety risk..."Look here! A brass casing was found in the parking lot of Fred meyer!"
THe story goes that the judge said "ummm, the brass stays where the gun is and the BULLET goes in a different direction".
Case closed, thrown out.

Now, my FIL always told me its not the politicians you want to pay close attention to as much as the judges who are elected.
You might get a very liberal leaning judge who likes to re-define our constitution to fit their agenda and if the case is appealed/escalated, it goes up to a very liberl 9th circuit court in SF.

Bottom line, research judges before you vote for them. Research politicians records before you vote for them.

Sadly, if the people of Issaquah can have a skydiving center closed down http://www.historylink.org/File/4194 then a firearm shooting range shouldn't be too tough for them.
