Yep. If you can’t access it from the breech end, you only have one choice.

I had a bullet get stuck in the barrel once, luckily the next round didn't go into battery as the bolt was just slightly back enough to not fire. Happened on my AK, now I am pretty anal when a round feels weak I inspect before pulling trigger again. Could have been really bad if lodged bullet went 1/8 in further and the next round fired.

Yup, I’ve had the same exact experience ... a couple of times. It gets your attention, imagining what might have been.

I tell this story all the time, now I am so keen on when the round feels severely underpowered I immediately stop and check. Cannot be too safe, I had another instance of same situation with my buddy's P226 when he was using some gun show reloads. Nothing to mess another round with.

something to think about....especially in a semi-auto pistol, in my experience, the bullet is usually in the first inch of the rifling. Needless to say that a rod put in from the muzzle is going to be kept more in line with the barrel. Less strikes to do the job is always best. Not to mention that the bullet has some place to go....the chamber, where it can fall out when you pick up the barrel from the table. Out in the field you need to do what you can with what you have. I have seen squibs in revolvers that actually locked up the cylinder. No other way to clear it except from the muzzle. Garand's and more......
