I'm looking for hard foam that I can cut to fit, either locally or online.
I have to transport a gaggle of pistols to the range every time I teach a women's pistol class. I bought a rolling case from Home Depot and I'd like to get some hard-ish foam that I can cut to fit the container shape and then cut out pistol slots. Thus it would need to have either a 1" layer below the muzzle, then ~8" to hold most of the frame, leaving the top 1-2" of the butt exposed.
Where have you found foam? And what kind of foam should I be looking for?

I have a bunch of open cell foam if you want it. Various sizes, about 4" thick.
It's a little firmed than what you would find in a couch cushion.

RocketScott, that might be interesting. At the very least it’ll be a prototype for as long as it lasts. Whereabouts are you located?

RocketScott, thanks for the foam.
UpDog, thanks for the recommendation.
