So you're stuck going shooting between 1:00 and 2:00 to get the rifle to eject, man that sucks.

But seriously, you can turn the gas down on that setup can't you? I've never messed around with the piston systems.

The gas block has 3 settings but it did not have any real effect when I was messing with it at the range.

So that’s a problem. One of those positions should be “off” and the rifle shouldn’t cycle.

Correct, I figured that one out but need to get back to the ESC where Mark or John (RSO's) may be able to help me get this thing figured out.

When you say you "figured that one out" did you get the gas adjustment to work?

I'd try to work on that end of things if you can. Swapping out the buffer to something heavier will work but the piston system is supposed to be adjustable.

No, just that one position is off. :ROFLMAO:

...And even in (what should be) the off position it was cycling?

The plunger must not be deep enough to cut off the gas.

No, off does not cycle.

I agree with RocketScott...changing the buffer or the buffer spring may "fix" your issue, but it would be good to understand why the gas adjustment on the piston system isn't fixing the problem like it should. If Adams Arms isn't helpful, replacing the spring is going to be cheaper than moving up to a heavier buffer. The heavy buffers are usually $20-30 + shipping, whereas an AR-10 spring is only $7 + shipping (from PSA).

Id suspect the hole in the barrel is oversized, as is common with carbine cut setups.

Never ran a carbine long stroke piston though, so not sure what settings are needed there.

A Arms emailed today saying the same thing, the buffer needs to be heavier (H-2) and no explanation on why the need for a different buffer... icon_eek
