Thanks for the replies and input. This got me looking at the Glock 20 and came across a used gen4 that appears to have barely been shot. Still has the factory grease and no wear on the barrel. Priced at 450 but the down side it has the grey frame which not a big fan of but for its intended purpose not bad I guess.

Always thought the real cost of a 10mm was the exorbitant ammo prices.

$450 is a great price. Does that come with 3 mags and the 4 backstraps?
Frames colored other than black, I have found, seem to draw a love-hate relationship.

Frames colored other than black, I have found, seem to draw a love-hate relationship. Three mags and only one backstrap. Does have extended slide release and appears to have the extended takedown as well. has Hi-viz sights installed and an aftermarket back plate/ slide cover. The thing that makes me hesitant is the frame color. I know it seems trivial. Looks like it was tinkered slightly with the add ons but rarely shot.

I have a gen 4 without removable back straps. Mine is black. Trade ya for that grey one if you are ever down this way.

I like 11.45mm. They have been making that caliber for a long time and it's effective too.

I had a 20sf. Now I have a 21sf with a conversion barrel. Change a barrel and a mag and it's like two guns.

I love my 10's but my 329PD gets the nod for extended carry. The light weight is worth it. 18 BHN keiths make a nice, clean hole.

I think I’ve owed 7 or 8 10mm pistols over the years. Mostly Glock 20’s or 1911’s. Right now my “in the woods” pistol is a gen 4 Glock 29. Perfect size, super comfy to use. I have a long slide Les Baer 10mm that’s fun to take to the range. Personally, I think the Glock platform is more comfortable to shoot in 10mm, and more reliable (especially in outdoors conditions). Plus Lone Wolf makes affordable conversion barrels for Glocks. I bought a .40s&w barrel for my 29 for $109 just to shoot cheaper range ammo on occasion.

I have the Glock 20 SF (Short Frame). It's a bit slimmer in the grip. Might work well for both you & your Mrs.

In the outdoors I carry a 9mm for two legged critters, and bear spray for four legged critters.

You need to be warned......once you get a 10mm, you may be hooked for life. The sickness is severe, it will not stop at a Glock...….it will take the form of 1911's and CZ's too. Symptoms may include the "need" to role your own/reload. The distaste for smaller calibers is often found in those that have caught the 10mm fever. When hard-up for ammo 10mm's have been observed shooting 40S&W, it is a strong urge the 10mm has on folks. I am wondering if there is an addiction hotline for 10mm's? Doesn't matter I do not want or need to be saved. The pure joy that can be found by firing up a mag of full bore 10mm's can not be found anywhere else. Just typing this makes my trigger finger itch...…… another symptom no doubt of the 10mm sickness that I know and love so well.
