I was thinking about doing this with my usp tactical a while back. I’ve read it can take a steady diet of 460. I ended up buying a box of 45 super buffalo bore hard cast instead. This thread has got me thinking about it again.

I had the Glock 30 Rowland kit for a bit. Sold it, was picky on ammo, expensive, and not that fun to shoot after the first 5 rounds.

I would do it with a 1911, particularly with a longslide, though with a comp that would be pretty muzzle-heavy.

I'd love to see someone make a viable wildcat that fits in the 1911, uses .429 bullets, and mimics a .44 Magnum from a 4" revolver (240gr @ 1200fps, 180gr @ 1500 fps). But with the .460 locking up this niche pretty well I don't see it happening. I bet necking down a .460 would work, actually...

You son of a Bitch! Is it a true Rowland, or maybe a Clark? Regardless, $200 is a steal. Youre not going to enjoy it, you might as well sell it to me. :thumbsup2:

Edited my post, it was supposed to say "I just saw."

I didn't buy it, just coincidental that I just saw one and it was apparently a good price. Damn. Wish I'd thought to buy it an pass it along to you guys.

After talking with Wes Sage about it, I have decided to shit can the idea. He had nothing good to say (as well as some outright horror stories) about the conversion. I trust him.
