Yeah sure, I didn't answer the OP's question.

I've never seen a test like the one he is requesting. When it comes to rimfire, I believe the gold standard is Eley primed stuff like Aguila or, well, Eley brand.

It's interesting about the Remington Golden bullet "Crap", I have run Buckets of it. While it's a bit dirty it runs my .22 semi Auto's without a problem.

With the exception of one finicky P22, it runs flawlessly through my Rifles and Pistols.

My preferred .22 ammo is Blazer, It even runs perfect in that one P22. :thumbsup2:

Do any of you seriously have reliability issues with any of the centerfire pistol ammo? I keep hearing "Brand X is best" . . . but does anyone actually see failures with any regularity from any brand?

I'm talking centerfire. Rimfire is a different story.

I've had more failures with Remington 9mm than any other brands, but it's true that centerfire ammo failures are quite rare overall. Remington's rimfire is absolute garbage though - consistently. You can't pay me to shoot it.

Interesting about the .22 ammo. Maybe it's a Lot issue and i have been lucky. :wagwoot:

I'd never heard of a .22lr squib, but as an RO I've now seen several. they were different brands, but all from local bi-mart, which had experienced multiple gun thefts, with a fire set to mask the crime. Makes me wonder if water-damage from fire fighters may have affected the ammo. For those who can definitively (per O.P) say x-brand is garbage, how can you be sure that solvent or water damage or some other storage/environmental issue is not a contributing factor to reliability?
