I ordered up the under $200 MOE AR-10 from PSA. Yeah I know, free shipping. No rush or anything - which 18" upper should I get? Barrel? .308Win or 7.62? I'm listening.

Faxon makes some good barrels. I have the stuff to put an upper together if you want to go that route. https://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Faxon-Firearms-AR-10-18-Medium-Tapered-308-Win-R-p/fax-10a810r18nmq.htmSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting! Will your stuff fit the PSA lower?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Unclear question. Will your STUFF - (I assumed you had an upper) - never mind that question. I just need an UPPER that will work with the lower, if I go that route. Thanks!

The PSA 6.5mm Creedmoor uppers work with the PA-10 lowers. But if you want .308, I'd just get a matching PSA complete upper. Hard to best the value. I'm happy with mine (20" rifle length stainless).

Yeah, figuring out the compatibility seems to be a matter of trial and error. I tried to research it on the web and felt like I had gone down a major rabbit hole. That's how I ended up going all-PSA.

I have asked some of the companies involved.....typical response: Quote: a Customer Service Agent will respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible. Due to a huge influx of customer inquiries, it could be 5-6 days.

I think (usually scarey) only psa uppers will work on the PSA lower. I know I did not want to risk it and bought everything from PSA for mine.

What build are you making? Lightweight hunting, CQB setup, Precision/DMR? I only have one large frame AR rifle, a heavy precision build. For that, I would recommend Bartlein or Kreiger (mine is Bartlein ). For weight savings, I have a friend who built a lightweight elk gun using Proof Research. He loves it. As far as chambering, it kinda depends on what you are shooting. 7.62 brass tends to have thicker walls. Do you reload? When not, from what I've read, headspacing on military rounds is longer. I have my rifle chambered in .308. when using 7.62 brass, I resize to .308 and reduce my load to keep pressures safe. Research the differences between the cartridges you plan to use for the application you have in mind. There is ample information to help you online. In addition, contact the barrel manufacturers as they may have insights that can help you.

At this point, an upper from PSA looks like a good match. Main use will be range fodder, and find out how accurate I can get for low dollars. Thanks.
