ACOG or Aimpoint unless you like Primary Arms. I’ve stuck with no magnification on my red dots and I can hit a human at 550.

I can vouch for the Trijicon MRO sights. I have two and they are great.

I also have two Trijicon RMR sights. One is mounted on a Glock 19 and the other on an AR pistol. They are also awesome.

Both of my RMR's are the RM06 models with adjustable dot brightness. One thing you may want to take into consideration is the size of the dot in whatever dot sight you buy. Bigger dots work great for quick close up shooting but will obstruct the entire target at a distance. Smaller dots work well at distance even without any magnification. I can ring 10" gongs consistently at 220 yards with the MRO on my AR.

The Vortex Strike Eagles come in a 1-6x and a 1-8x. I have a couple of the 1-6x and they are nice because when you power down to 1x it essentially becomes a dot sight. However, unlike the MRO or the RMR (or any number of other dot sights) you will still have parallax with the variable magnification optics like the Strike Eagles. There is no parallax with dedicated dot sights.

Just food for thought. You should come out and try a few different options before you commit. Let me know if interested.

Nice but I work for a living.
There have been plenty of good ones listed here I like that are "somewhat" affordable.
I'm leaning toward this one: https://m1surplus.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=91_456&products_id=3596

I have owned and used several in the $100-200 range (Bushnell TRS-25, Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot, Sig Sauer ROMEO5, Vortex SPARC AR, Holosun Micro Sight, and Vortex Strikefire II) and a few in the $400+ range (AimPoint PRO, EOtech EXPS3-0, and Trijicon RMRs).

If you want a solid range toy that won't break the bank, my vote is the Bushnell or Holosun ($120 from PSA now). The PA, Sig, and Vortex dots are not as crisp and round as the other 2. The battery life on the PA is amazing, though.

If you want to have something that is high quality and will last, my vote is an AimPoint Micro. Expensive, yes, but worth it.

None of the red dot magnifiers that I've tried have been very impressive, so if I want the option of magnification I just use a 1-4x or 1-6x scope (either Vortex or Leupold).

That is an excellent price, most my red dots are holosun, a Primary arms advice micro dot and a MRO. IMO I prefer the Holosun even over the MRO that resides on my SHTF rifle. Very small, adjustable, 50k battery life, and lifetime warranty. Pretty hard to beat imo.

Cyclops, and other prismatic sights will not work well with a magnifier. Just a heads up.

If you have $300 burning your poket you cannot go wrong with a leupold low power with a red dot included (sort of)

https://www.brownells.com/optics-mounti ... 81277.aspx

FedEx should bring it to me soon.

Damn, that's a good price. Free shipping over $49 with code VB5, too. I may have just ordered one myself...

For a rifle I would go with a Vortex Strike eagle 1-6X, or the Cabelas version for like half the price and includes the mount. I believe the newer Cabelas scopes are made by Vortex.
For my Sub-2000 I got a TRU-GLO 1X for $40.
