I will be moving out of Washington soon. I will be driving. Do I need to file a 5320.20 for every state I'm driving through, or just the one with the address where I am going?

My understanding is that you don't need to do one for suppressors. But I can't answer your question about how many forms you need ... I'd sure HOPE you only need to do one, but I don't know.

If you are only transporting and not using them you just need the one form for where they will be. If you were to stop and use them in another state you would then need multiple forms.
As for suppressors...you don't have to do then but it's not a bad idea imo. That way you at least have something from the ATF showing your new address since the form 1/4 will always show the original address.

Yes, but only for the destination state, and only for the SBRs.

Moving suppressors (aka silencers) within state or cross state lines… Several sites including Silencerco and others recommend even though it’s not required for suppressors to document and submit the form to ATF. https://www.guntrustlawyer.com/form20/It’s better to have documented the move prior and not need it than try to catch up and scramble around if anything arise afterwards is the thought. It’s basically free and easy to do. We do lots of stuff to cover ones ass but it’s your ass not mine.

*Should* just need to file for the destination state. If you stop for the night it's a bit of a grey area if that's a destination in and of itself or just part of the trip. Stopping for sleep every so often should just be part of the normal course of traveling, but a big side excursion probably wouldn't be covered
Suppressors don't require the form, but I did one anyway. The first time I submitted them they came back approved. For various reasons my move got delayed and I resubmitted them with new dates. The second time the suppressor forms didn't come back. I guess the inspector threw them out since they aren't required
When you fill out the form list the address you want the forms to be returned to. Even though the form says to only fill that out if different than item 1 do it anyway. Both times I submitted they sent the forms to the destination address. Mom had to mail them back to me
There are only three lines for firearms on the form. I just submitted multiple forms in the same envelope but I've seen on arf.com somebody modified the form to have more lines. Seemed to work just fine. Not sure if it was a fillable PDF or not
