Looking into a 45 caliber can. I like the idea of the Osprey 45, and how it doesn't block the sights. I've realized though it's 10 years old. I shot one on somebody else's pistol. Has anything been released lately that is better? Does anybody have it and another 45 can, and have a comparison opinion to share?

I'm leaning towards the Rugged Obsidian. I'm happy with their .22 can, and I hear a lot of good things about them.

I've also been looking into a 45 can, specifically the Osprey 45 or 45K. But I'll probably end up with an Obsidian 45 or an Omega 45K. My hosts will be a pair of USP40's, and I have heard, I don't remember where, that monocore cans just don't perform as well as baffle stacks. The Osprey series are cool looking, but they're monocore cans.

I've got a Rugged Obsidian 45. It's a great suppressor and I like being able to run the shorter configuration for less weight on the end of the barrel.

It does block the sights like any other standard suppressor but I've found you kind of learn to "see through" the suppressor when the sights are blocked and it doesn't massively affect accuracy and standard pistol shooting distances.

Personally I'd rather have a lightweight/adaptable suppressor that's a good all around can than just the sight picture advantage of an offset suppressor like the Osprey
