I have 2 SBR lowers that I registered to a trust because that was the easier way to get it done at the time. Since then, I have purchased a suppressor as an individual, and I'm about to purchase another. I don't really feel I need the trust anymore. Can I transfer those receivers to myself, and if I do, will I have to pay $200 a pop to do so?

thanks

Yep. Form 4 transfer.

Yep. The NFA weapon is being transferred to a new entity. That's a form 4 transfer, and it's $200. Even if you are the only RP on the trust, you aren't the owner. The trust is.

There might be a fringe case somewhere where a trust was dissolved and somebody got a pass on the tax, but it isn't a method I've ever heard of.

ok. kind of figured it would be that way. I guess I'll keep the trust. I should probably amend it to remove my ex, though...
