On December 25th - in the midst of the panic - I decided to get myself a Christmas present. I contacted Greg at K&E Arms and asked about a Huntertown Arms Guardian 9. Greg got me a price quote super quick, ordered the suppressor and took payment via PayPal.

Today - January 21 - we both had the day off and I finished my trust paperwork. I went over to Greg's house and filled out the remaining paperwork while we drank a beer and chatted.

Greg will be submitting the paperwork this week and then it's only a matter of time...at this point, the approval process seems to be running about 6 - 8 months. I'll post updates as I get them (check cashed, pending, approved, stamp received).

By the way, Greg has been great to work with and I am looking forward to making more purchases (NFA or otherwise) through him in the future. :thumbsup2:

Here's hoping for a quick turn around on my tax stamp! :rockout:

Edited to add:
January 21, 2013 - Paperwork turned over to Greg
February 4, 2013 - Paperwork submitted by Greg (2 weeks for his approval to come back)
March 7, 2013 - Check Cashed
May 7, 2013 - "Pending"
December 23, 2013 - Stamp arrives
January 10, 2014 - Picked up the suppressor from Greg

Thanks for support guys!

I happened to be searching the net for suppressor related stuff and found this:

This is a handy brochure to keep in your range bag if someone asks you a question about suppressors...or for your local shop, class 3 dealer, or gun club to distribute.

Update: The check was deposited yesterday.

At the current pace of processing and approvals, I'll be lucky if I get the stamp by October. I guess it will be a 2012 Christmas gift to myself and a 2013 birthday gift to myself.

It's odd that it took them 6 weeks to cash your check. Usually it's a week, max....

Well, I completed the paperwork with Greg on January 21st. I have no idea when he submitted the forms. But it wouldn't surprise me if they are WAY behind.

It was a 2 week delay waiting for the approval to come to me, it went out day after I got that. Sorry for that delay

Get ready for the longest ass wait of your life. Mine took 8mo approx. chip called me out of the blue one day, says " brad, have you been a good boy?"
I says " DON'T F*** WITH ME CHIP!!!"
He says "good news."
I says "YEAHWHAT!!"
He says " I just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to geico"
"GODDAMMITJUSTTELLMETHEREALGOODNEWS!"
" you can come pick your suppressor up now"
"I'm in the car now, be there in 10mins"
