So I was at the ben's today and heard that form 2 manufacturing at dealers are no longer being done as of yesterday because of a letter sent out by the atf. Anyone know anything on this?

Do you mean Form 2 manufacturing?

I haven't heard anything.

When you manufacture it yourself, it's a Form 1. When a manufacturer (aka dealer) manufactures it, it's a Form 2. When you transfer from dealer to dealer, it's a Form 3. When the dealer transfers to Joe Blow, it's a Form 4.

At least, I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Need to see letter, or get additional confirmation from other FFL's / SOT's that this letter is in existence.

Rainier Arms posted on their AR15.COM forum that they are no longer going to be manufacturing SBR's via Form 2 for Form 4 transfer to Washington residents. They will still sell SBR's manufactured outside of Washington to Washington residents. They didn't say anything about a letter. They are still processing the ones they have gotten started.
Likely more games from BATman based on the deluge of calls and emails received from worrywarts that can't leave well enough alone. Just like the Form 1 follies.

Well, I am glad I went the Form 2/4 route just last weekend then. I was kicking myself for being slow on the ball during the Form 1 period.

From Rainier Arms over on ARFCOM:
Quote:
Just an update folks...we will continue to process the Form 2's / Form 4's for SBR manufacturing that we have received to date from our local WA customers. However, as of yesterday, we are no longer processing customer Form 2's, nor can we Form 4 a Rainier Arms SBR or PDW to a Washington resident. We can Form 4 a factory SBR from another manufacturer outside the state of WA for our WA resident customers, but until then we are suspending our past practice. We appreciate everyone's support and patronage. Thank you!

knew this was coming, with the way the law is written, they, and other MFG's doing F2-F4 for in Wa make/residents, that sort of thing is against Wa Law.
