Silencer shop may have found a way to Hi-jack the Eforms system
Hello,
My name is Katie Holloway and I work for Silencer Shop. We have done class 3 transfers for you in the past, and we were wondering if you’d like to join us in our new endeavor; Silencer Shop Direct. It’s a networking program we’re endeavoring to construct, and that network will allow us to transfer suppressors for dealers electronically, dramatically cutting down on the time it takes customers to get their items. Since we’ve worked with you in the past, we’d like to give you first crack at owning your marketplace. We need someone in your area for an existing transfer, and someone who can, in the future, be our person for your corner of the world. If you’d like to know more about this program, please contact me at 512-931-4556 x 110
We have no one within 300 miles of you, so you would definitely be seeing a rise in transfers and subsequent business if you were to join in.
Hope your day is treating you well, I know I miss the Pacific Northwest daily so I hope that spring rain has things looking good! I look forward to hearing from you, and as a native Pacific North Westerner, I would love to get a partnership going. Thank you for your time!
Thank you,
Katie Holloway

April 1, 2014 URGENT NOTICE TO: All Registered ATF eForms users
As you are aware for several weeks the eForms application has been experiencing some technical problems that have rendered the application difficult or impossible to use. We apologize for the issues that our customers have been experiencing. We have been diligently working to resolve these issues and have sought the assistance of IT systems experts. Those experts have advised us of one major problem; that the eForms system is NOT designed to accept batch uploads. We have noted that several of our registered eForms users have designed and use a “batch/multiple submission process” that we have determined has been contributing to the problems that eForms is experiencing. ATF did NOT grant these users any authorization to use this process. eForms was designed to work as a serial application, with each user making one submission at a time. The “batch/multiple submission processes” are creating a situation where processes are initiated and not completed within the eForms application. This is causing “memory allocation errors” within the eForms application. The result is that many users are prevented from being able to log-in. Another symptom is that once users log-in, the system moves so slowly that it is taking 20 minutes or more to move from one screen to the next. Users are also reporting that they are unable to successfully submit an application even if they are fortunate enough to make it to the submission page. Because the “batch/multiple submission processes” have been identified as a major contributing factor to these problems, we are requesting that any registered eForms user who is currently using any “batch/multiple submission process” discontinue the use of any such process IMMEDIATELY. Any user who continues to use a “batch/multiple submission process” for eForms, after the dissemination of this message will have his/her access to the eForms system suspended or revoked. Please understand that we are not asserting that the users of the “batch/multiple submission process” did anything wrong. Unfortunately, our system was not designed to handle batch processes which are causing unexpected problems for our system. ATF is currently assessing whether there are other improvements that can address the problems identified. One of the issues that we will address in the future will be the creation of a batch process that will be available to all eForms users without a detrimental effect on the performance of the eForms system. Until that time we request your compliance with the above, and appreciate your cooperation and patience.

The reason for the e form debacle is governments inability to create a functional website for more than five people at a time to use.

Understood. Lots of whacky stuff is coming out today. Had my FFL's for sales and ammo mfg, so I understand them having no sense of humor.
Hope the sytem gets fixed for you and others who need the system. I'll be needing it shortly. Funny how a company that is in the business of selling a service or product can make a perfectly usable website, but not funny how .GOV can't.

Got this email today from a buddy down south. Quote: Subject: Industry wide shut down of eForms Hello - We are sending this notice to all of our customers, and although some of you may not have purchased class 3/NFA items from us, we feel the information below is important for everyone. Today we learned the ATF shut down the eForms system until they can resolve the performance and stability issues experienced by many submitting form 3s and 4s electronically. This is an industry wide shut down and only affects the future filing of forms and not the forms currently in process. A copy of the message can be viewed at the following URL: https://www.atfonline.gov/EForms/ Texas Residents If you received an email from us that your form 4 was filed, your form is in the ATF's system and will be processed accordingly. You do not have to do anything at this time, except wait for the form to be approved! The current form 4 wait time is about 125 days from the submission date. Non-Texas Residents If you received an email from us that your form 3 was filed, your form is in the ATF's system. The current form 3 transfer time is about 30 days from the submission date. Upon approval, your local FFL/SOT will more than likely file your form 4 via the old fashioned paper format. At this time, we do not know when the eForms system will return and we will notify you when we are once again able to file electronically. Until the eForm system returns, all future orders placed with us will be processed via paper, unless requested by the purchaser to hold the form until an electronic process is back in place. We appreciate your business and continued support. Please let us know if we can address any questions you may have. Thanks, Torrey Capitol Armory FFL/SOT Not sure yet how long term this is or will be. Any of you guys heard or seen anything yet?
