As you probably already know if you are considering buying or building NFA items (suppressors or short-barreled rifles), ATF Rule 41F (formerly known as 41P) will take effect on July 13th. Once that happens, you can still buy or make NFA items but it will be more of a hassle for most people to do so, as they will now need to get photographs and fingerprints, potentially from multiple people.

A good overview of 41F is here: https://silencerco.com/blog/2016/02/11/ ... t-atf-41f/

If you want to get your paperwork submitted before 41F takes effect, you need to have your paper forms postmarked or your eFile submitted by . . . errr . . . either July 12th or July 13th. I don't know. I've seen conflicting information on this. Bottom line, go with the 12th to be safe.

If you are planning to eFile, don't wait until the last minute; the ATF eFile website is a total piece of crap and the last thing you want is for the clock to strike midnight while you're still waiting for a hanging web page....

If anyone is racing to meet the deadline and needs help or has questions, post up here. We have a lot of knowledge amongst us, let's share it. :thumbsup2:

By the way, I just submitted two Form 1s this afternoon for SBRs. The site was working fairly well, except I had to re-try the Pay window about a half-dozen times to get it to work.

I really need to get on that Steve, but I am right in the middle of trimming out the stairs, shortwalls etc.
If it's not done before the Boobs get home I'm in a bind.
I will get my Trust scanned in later tonight, (If I can figure out the scanner) and get with you.
Help me Mr. Wizard....you're my only hope. :thumbsup2:

Remember when you scan your trust that the file size needs to be 3MB maximum. You can split it up and have up to ten files, but each file can be no larger than 3MB.

Don't wait till the 12th at all, get it in by the 10th, otherwise you WILL be stuck with a crashing website. It was down for over a day last week. Get it in now and sit back and relax while others are frantically trying to get theirs in ontime.

This!

The website is 100% guaranteed to be crashed on the 11th, 12th and 13th.

Also, make sure to select the scan for black and white only. I scanned mine and didn't pay attention to that setting. The file was huge. After rescanning, I was able to get the size down.

Scan as a jpeg and copy it into word. I got my 10 page trust small enough to send as one file.

So I'm all hyped up ("LET'S DO THIS!!!") and want to do it NOW but apparently the eFile website is closed on Wednesdays. WTF? Leave it to the government to find new ways to inconvenience people. Wednesdays??? That's so random.

Every Wednesday, and then they have some sort of Server reboot on some Thursday mornings as well.
