plus 2 is just a term we use to refer to cheating. A few years ago there was an incident where an RO in some other state, were adding 2 secs to shooters who were competing with him or his buddies and -2 secs to his buddies times. Hence, the "plus 2". Here's the official note from USPSA after they investigated and banned him. https://www.gunnuts.net/2014/06/27/lett ... g-scandal/

In my case, it wasn't actually cheating, I just used the term in jest. What actually happened was the timer was probably bumped sometime right after my last shot was fired and when the scorekeeper pulled the time from the timer. It happens from time to time, and most experienced ROs will know this and find ways to avoid this situation.

1. They look at the time right after the shooter has finished while they give the Unload and Show Clear command. Just to be sure.
2. Some ROs can tell "rough time" by seeing the shooter's performance. Mostly when compared to other shooters who have shot before. They get a slight suspicious feeling that the time could be wrong.
