Here's my match from Renton a few weeks ago. I lamented making my video since I was disappointed in how I shot; it's definitely slower than usual. I slept for 13 hours that night when I got home! I guess my brain and body don't work so well when they want sleep. No more of that. It was a fun match nonetheless, despite some slow times and terrible reloads. I did a much better job at calling my shots and shot 94.47% of the points with 132A, 4B, 15C, 1D. More of that.

Meh. You're badass in my book. Yeah, I understand what you're saying but I also know that you'd outshoot 99% of the people here on an action course like that.

I commented on one of Loke's videos once about how it looked like he was shooting awfully close to the bystanders. He educated me and told me that it just appeared that way because of the extremely wide-angle lens.

I know that now, but I still get a kick out of seeing it in the videos. For example:

Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.

Hehe, thanks!

Ya, I noticed the one with Loke standing there after I already rendered the video. A lot of times I will use the third person footage so it doesn't freak people out lol. On one match last summer, I was shooting on the 180 just like that and Loke was standing there - from the GoPro footage it looked like he was 3 FEET away. I used the third person video for it and it looked like no big deal.

Another fun match Tuesday night!

Had some penalties this match! Ignored a needed pickup shot - stopped looking at my sights and was pretty sure I needed it, but then didn't take it.... Another mike, from sitting at the chair, third target, pulled off the target too soon when going to a reload. And another - completely forgot a steel! Reverted to a bunch of bad habits tonight - just kinda hangin' and shootin'. Had fun. :)

There were a few decent reloads, though; I have been botching reloads like crazy in matches lately.

I like jumping out of the way of flying brass when I'm standing there looking at the ejection port. It's a game I play when I'm bored running production shooters... ;)

The last stage was a classifier - at 50 yards! Terrible. Even if I hadn't shot the entire classifier wrong, shooting the each of the three targets twice per string, instead of one target 6 times per string - I still totally failed and basically zeroed the stage. For prone - I tried to shoot from my side - wasn't gonna work. Tried to lay flat out, but I was too far forward and my elbows were faulting the line. Then realized I didn't have enough time to reposition, so just hung my head and waited for the timer to go off. Utter fail. I know now I have to step back a lot farther. I'm glad I could provide my squaddies some entertainment. #pronefail

Accuracy was good, though.

Boy, there wasn't much time to do anything in that classifier, was there?? That "stop" buzzer came quickly, you'd have to be really on top of your game to get prone and then hit anything.

Came back from the Oregon State Championship at COSSA in Bend, OR late last night. Saturday and Sunday I shot the match and then on Sunday, during arbitration was a shoot-off. Last year's shoot-off was so fun and I went on to get second place, just barely losing to the champ. This year, I didn't get as far, but I made it through 2 rounds, and had a lot of fun doing it! I got taken out in round 3 and did not advance to the final 4 :( I'll have to try again next year!

Oregon State Championship

Had a fun time at this match! Fun, challenging stages, variety. COSSA puts on a great match! Got my first High Lady Production trophy. I had some stupid mistakes, which made some of my stages a little disappointing, but overall I did better than Area 1. Improving little by little. I came away with a few key things to work on hard this month.

1. MAG CHANGES. One common thing about every one of my changes, is my poor and/or fumbled mag changes. No matter the distance I am travelling to the next position, I use that entire time to do my mag change. I think doing two things at once slows both of them down. I am going to be working on getting my mag change completed on the first step out of my position, so I can concentrate on booking it to the next spot and not tiptoeing staring at my magwell.
2. SHOOTING EARLIER. The other thing - I've been working on keeping my gun up and ready when I transition to a new position, because I used to drop my gun down all the time. Have been getting a little better with that. Now I a going to be working on, actually acquiring my target as I am coming into position and firing as soon as possible. I spend too much time planting in a position and THEN lining up my sights. Wasting so much time.
3. EXITING HARDER. When I'm leaning around a barricade or something, coming out of the lean is S L O W. I need to learn to do that kick thing to get moving out of position faster.

I shot a SUPER fun steel match in St. George in April. I'm definitely going to this again next year :) I'm kinda proud of my work on the polish plate racks. My first one I shot at 02:09 was awesome - one-for-one. My second one at 03:48 I started to miss and the thing got turning SO FAST but then got the last three plates off one-for-one. On my re-shoot, on the same plate rack at 05:14, I made the same mistake missing at the plate and got it spinning, again - but was able to pick the plates off. I'm getting better at moving targets and swingers.

FUN!!! :cheers2:

I laughed at Coach Loke: "Watch your SIGHTS!" :ROFLMAO:

Tell me about your ear muffs. Are they an older version of this? http://www.proears.com/Pro-Ears-Shootin ... lack-Muffs

I'm curious because I read so many good things about those electronic Pro Ears muffs . . . and then I bought a used pair for "cheap" (still over $100), and they really kinda sucked. I don't use them anymore.

What's your experience with them?

Ya! Haha. He can be pretty funny on the range.

Yes, I'm wearing Pro Mag Gold the NRR 30 ones. They are only about 3 years old. They're kinda big and dorky looking, but if I'm shooting outdoors I don't double plug unless I'm near a concrete wall or when I'm right next to an open shooter. If I'm indoors, I double plug. The audio is really nice, the quality is almost like not wearing ear muffs. I've put on a few others electronic ear muffs and didn't care for the audio quality as much. I love wearing these because I can hear people talking on the range, and blocks out the gunfire when I shoot. I just use earplugs when I shoot rifle though, otherwise they get pushed out of the way a bit and lifted off my ear when I'm aiming.
