I'm glad the off-season is coming to an end! Shot a fun match on Sunday. :) The match before this one, I didn't pay attention to when I was on deck and wasn't as focused as I should be. Trying to be more deliberate and not so lackadaisical. So, this time I paid attention more and was fairly consistent - except for messing up on stage 3 and 6. Erg.
I found a classifier video from June 2014 shortly after I started shooting, and compared it to when I shot the same classifier in October. Encouraging to see some improvement.
Excellent performance, regardless. I wish to be as good, someday.

Had a great time shooting last night! I shot decently last night and got 1st in Production, and 4th overall - which was 58.24% of the open GM shooting. I started out wanting to call all my shots, but fell into point shooting and not really watching my sights, lol. Shot 93% of the points. I went over stages several times in my head and didn't paste starting when I was in the hole so I could pay attention. I am really focusing on my mental game this year. I feel like I have started to make less mistakes and have been more consistent.
Stage 1: Had to shoot the mini targets from the box, then the metric paper from behind the cones. The steel had to be shot from the left side of the wall and through both ports.
Stage 2: One shot each, mandatory reloads between boxes, and strong hand only in the front box.
Stage 3: Had to make your reloads from the boxes, but had to shoot outside of the boxes. Also could only use a box once.
Here's one of my stages I didn't totally screw up lol. On stage two, I shot 62.66% of the Production GM. I kind of fell apart at the end - shot a delta on the last paper, and then totally missed steel, which is usually one of my strong points. I think it was 4 make up shots on the six plates. Ah well. Guess I'll just have to shoot more
It was CRAZY windy and there was rain on and off all day. When it wasn't raining, the wind picked up and sucked all the plastic covers off the targets and sent them swirling 25 feet into the air. The wind also blew entire wall section down... that were in concrete stands AND staked into the ground. It bent over targets to where you could only see the delta zone at the bottom; broke the target sticks; and blew paper off the stands, even though they had twenty staples attaching them. The day went a little longer than normal due to all the repairs and waiting for gusts to be over. It was a fun experience.
Because I was so disappointed in my hits on Sunday, I went for a little aiming practice at a Speed Steel match in Federal Way. I also used the bay next door for dryfire practice when I wasn't shooting. One shot from the draw, El Prez, Bill Drills; it was a good practice session. Still fighting bronchitis. Doc put me on another 10 days of antibiotics and some over the counter stuff. I debated whether I should stay home and rest or go out shooting....
