Haha awesome! You definitely need to shoot matches and stick with it! It is a TON of fun!

New Year's Day I shot a match in freezing weather and shot TERRIBLE. But it wasn't completely the weather's fault. I was pulling EVERY shot.... almost all my hits were low left. I even blamed my rear sight for being "bent" (it did look a little askew!). On the 64 round steel stage I took (literally) FORTY pickup shots.... AND had to leave a few steel standing when I RAN OUT OF AMMO! 104ish rounds on ONE STAGE LOL!

So.... disgusted with how my shooting had gone downhill in the offseason, I started dryfiring... FINALLY! Four days of 30-60 minute dryfire sessions, then shot a match on Sunday and did SO much better. I was actually surprised on how just those few days helped with much better trigger presses, smoother reloads, and a little boost of confidence. Here's the steel stage, which was my best stage of the day... almost 1-for-1! I started thinking, "Oh sweet, I'm going 1-for-1" *miss*) I did make a few mistakes, and could have shaved a few seconds off, but I was pretty happy with how it went overall. I shot 70% of Loke's time. :)

Enough said right there....
Enjoy!
You are way ahead of many as far as self-defense goes, so kudos! :thumbsup2:
Keep having fun. Make that your goal.
When you stop 'trying' to do better, you will relax into it and improve.

Yes! I hope I can continue (to afford) to have fun with good shooting and good squaddies. :)
Thanks! Sometimes I look back at how I used to shoot, so I know at least I have improved.
Lol, so true... some stages I "try" and totally end up bombing the stage.

Ya! It was a lot of fun! Now loading mags in the dark, using just my red light on my headlamp was a bit different. If they weren't totally empty it was hard to tell how many were in there because I was using steel cased ammo *gasp* I ended up just stopping by Bass Pro Shop on the way and buying steel cased TulAmmo instead of shooting my reloads, which I hadn't case gauged, yet.

This was my stage from earlier this month that I forgot about. Had a few malfunctions with my pistol, so didn't do as well as I had hoped. And COLD and slippery. But a lot of fun! Memorable moments: SQUIB! and totally blowing my classifier!! That was my first A class classifier and I dropped it down to a D class score in .2 seconds haha

Dryfire!!

Made it a goal after my horrible match on New Year's Day to dryfire this year! A few weeks ago, I refined my "dryfire more" goal to mean: "Dryfire at least 15 minutes for 5-6 days of the week." And I purpose to MEET or EXCEED my goal :)

Here's my time spent so far this year:
January 2-8: 3h 15m (4 days dryfire + 1 match)
January 9-15: 2h 50m (3 days dryfire + 1 match)
January 16-22: 5h 15m (5 days dryfire + 1 match)
January 23-29: 5h 5m (5 days dryfire)
Jan 30-Feb 5: 1h 50m.... still have 4 days more to dryfire :)

After a few more weeks I am going to compare my par times from when I started to current par times. Will be interesting to see :) I do have a detailed journal of my drills and par times on enos in "AlphaCharis' PewPew Life" in the range diary section.

Haven't posted in awhile - but I've been shooting! Match on Sunday, I was 29th overall of 73 shooters and 4th in Production. Had an awesome time with a FUN squad, as always. :) Made some little mistakes that cost me seconds here and there... I'll need to be a little more serious in my rehearsal. I have made some gains though, so it's fun to see a little bit of improvement. I started the first few months well with lots of dryfire, but I've been slacking off the past month+... time to get back to it and keep it up!

I wasn't super impressed with my performance, but it got me a 79.75% classifier score! My first A class score... FINALLY!

I started with a bad draw, so my paper was a little slow, and my transitions between the two papers needed to be quicker, but I was really happy with my steel! Had fun on this one, and I was really excited once I saw the result lol

Oh shoot.... I forgot to cut the video before it shows that guy start to walk downrange before the "range is clear" command.
So... NO, people don't do that normally, but occasionally Newbies get super excited about taping targets, and start doing so right after the show clear, and YES, I made sure to glare at him as I was holstering.
