ABNORMAL YEAR CALLS FOR ABNORMAL ACTION…Year 2020 as been an abnormal year for many things and recreational activity on our public lands has been one of those abnormalities. The result is an overwhelming amount of trash has been left behind on the lands we value so much. As Americans, we enjoy the freedom to recreate as we wish on our public land but it must be done with a standard of ethics and stewardship in our hearts. Every visit to nature must include the ethical virtues of fairness, integrity, responsibility, and respect. We also must adhere to the values of stewardship as we share in the careful and responsible management of our great outdoors. Public land needs your stewardship and ethics now. And what a better time to do it than on National Public Lands Day! National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 26th, is the nation's largest single-day volunteer event for public lands. Since 1944, it is held annually on the fourth Saturday in September. This celebration brings out thousands of volunteers to help restore and improve public lands around the country. So pack a lunch, trash bags, and your volunteer spirit. Check the area you wish to go and be sure it is still accessible due to the recent windstorm and wildfires. Plan on being the steward our land needs you to be, this Saturday, Sept 26th. Take photos and tell us about your Public Lands Day 2020. Email to volunteer@trashnoland.org. #TrashNoLand! #NationalPublicLandsDay! #CleanUpToShoot! #StewardshipKeepsItOpen! Attachment: Stewardship-Its what we do..jpg

Thanks - nice portable stand setup - where did you get the base? I'd like something like that so I can carry it in the trunk of my car easily when I go out to the range in Snoqualmie

Hi Ronmart, I can mail you some of the fliers. Currently I'm printing them at home on the lazer printer so I print what I can until I run out of toner. COVID put a damper on donations for the mass printing. Bummer. Send me your address in a PM and I'll plan on mailing some. --------------------------- The shooting place you had referred to is in Oregon, in the Tillamook State Forest. It's an improvement to an existing dispersed shooting site. We helped Ore Dept of Forestry to improve 4 sites. It's not a range, just a dispersed shooting place with some public safety improvements, fire prevention features and user enhancements. They are open 7 days/week, sun up to sun down, no fees, no RSO's, no facilities. This is the kind of improvements we'd like to see all over WA & OR. --------------------------- The target stand is made by HatPoint Targets. It's a light weight Polymere stand that doesn't shatter if hit with a bullet. I like how flexible it is for varying target widths. Their web is: https://hatpointtarget.com/Bill

Thanks for the information Bill, it sure seems like it's being used for political purposes lately.

. Backstops are required [ PERIOD]. No if's, and's or buts! Targets are to be placed IN FRONT of the backstop. Backstops stop bullets. No rounds are to leave the range! Public Safety first. It's every shooters responsibility to know and abide by the law. #BackStop! #NoRoundsLeaveTheRange! #CleanUpToShoot! #StewardshipKeepsItOpen! #TrashNoLand! Attachment: What Part of Backstop.jpg

Oh man, I’ve seen targets like that at Greenwater ... up right on top of the hills. It’s absolutely sickening.
