I'm a new member but have lived in Seattle for about 5 years. Im looking for a spot to shoot within an hour or so thats either unmonitored, or chill due to ptsd. my issue with normal ranges are that I tend to get flinchy when others shoot. I say this but im alwasy safe around my firearms and have been shooting my whole life. Always clean up after myself and respect others, thanks in advance.

Right under the GIGANTIC WaGuns.org logo at the top of the page you'll see a box that says: "MAPS Shooting Areas"
click and you'll get a map.
Yellow pins are organized range clubs and businesses.
Green trees are nat'l forest spots

Click on a tree to get the name of the spot. Next to the name is a triangular traffic sign with a right turn arrow. click for directions.

The club ranges are safer and even more serene, often, than the free-for-all forest shooting spots because of the structure provided by club rules and the members' vested interest in their club. At the shooting spots in the forest, any yahoo can show up and you'll need to keep your head on a swivel.

IMO, find a range, join up and arrange to go on the less busy weekdays.

Even the non-member public shooting days held by the clubs are safer than the forest.

Get better/double up your ear pro?

Welcome to WaGuns, Andrew!

Jim has provided some good input above. I’d like to especially second the “get better earpro” suggestion, as that can make a HUGE difference. A good pair of muffs, plus some foam earplugs, can really quiet things down.

I doubt anyone is going to give you their quiet shooting spot.

Either drive out to eastern wa where you can do fuck all or consider the seattle police range where at least you know someone had a background check done at some time if that makes you feel better.

I take my grandson shooting up to darlington to shoot at the pits up there. I will be going tomorrow late afternoon if you want to tag along.
You can meet up at my place and you can ride up with us.
I've taken quite a few people up there and have been organizing clean up sessions for the pits the last few years.
I am in Arlington.
You can text me at 425-220-1051
