Trying to figure out some places to shoot so some friends and I can get together. I'm in Mason, but many friends and family are in Kitsap county. No shooting ranges. The place we were shooting outside of Belfair at Tahuya was closed for logging at the beginning of the year and I haven't been able to find out if it is going to open again. Thanks guys for any input.

Did they finally close down Tahuya? When I lived in Bremerton, that was where I’d go. Last time I was out there was 3 or 4 years ago. At the time I was told there’s a designated spot to shoot on state land. I used to shoot at some spots in Jefferson county, but those have been shut down.

Little to no spots left in Kitsap, and they’re getting few and far between in Mason. I live out on Mason and people started trashing my local spot, so now I don’t tell anyone anymore. Even the spot I used to be able to shoot on private land got closed down by the private timber company because people were trashing it. So they closed it to all. I still have permission to coyote hunt it for now.

There are a few places still allowed in Belfair On DNR land, so long as we can continue to keep it clean. Other than that, Mason County Sportmans Club, Poulsbo Sportmans Club or Gig harbor Sportmans club is pretty much it. There is also Bainbridge Island’s shooting range and Bremerton’s Trap and skeet near Bremerton airport.
Other than that Hood Canal on Forest Service land is a great option as you can find below on link. (Open link and look for Target Shooting section roughly half way down.)

Shoot an email to the volunteers at Target Shooting On DNR Lands for further get together and cleanups that are specifically in the area. DNRTARGETSHOOTING@gmail.com

Any update on the 3 possible shooting places on the other side of the channel by Eldon? They may say they are on USFS roads, however, I believe they are on a small piece of DNR land. Right?
