I should've checked before, but I'm about to go up to the greenwater shooting pit(despite the dumb people) and hopefully find a spot to ourselves... Can anyone confirm that it's open right now? thanks!

I don’t think the gravel pit is open now due to them using it for gravel supply. At least it wasn’t on Friday. Lots of places further up though.

UPDATE: I went there yesterday 8/15 and the pit from FS70 was open, as well as the roads leading uphill above that pit.

Thanks for the report, was anybody else up there? Yes other people were there. When I got there at about 2:00pm there were only 2 vehicles at the lower pit and was told there was one person at the upper pit. At about 2:30 we chose the short range spot just above the lower pit, shortly after that, many more people showed up and were driving back and forth on the road. When we left at about 6:00, the lower pit had like 6 vehicles there.

Which one are you calling the upper pit? The one above the big Rock Quarry pit? Is the big Rock Quarry pit the "Lower" one? The small one above the Big Quarry is closed, as well as the Hillside off FS 70 before the big Quarry pit.

Might be referring to the smaller hillside next to the quarry.

We went pretty far up the hill and didn't see any other shooting spots. We took a quick stop before heading back down and I asked someone who was driving down from up the hill if he saw any places up there to shoot, he said that there was one person up higher who was shooting and he didn't see any other spots that look legal to shoot. He didn't seem to be a target shooter himself.
