There's a pace I like to go shooting, it's north of Oso, WA, and it's looking like a dump. I'm going to take a stand and clean that place up!

No, It's one my Friend showed me, it's west of the one on the map. It's 2 miles up Lake Cavanaugh Road. I called it "AG" meaning "Anything Goes", but all safety rules still apply. And it's becoming a mess up there, and I want people to know about it. It's a good place, and I'd hate to see it closed down, considering that's where I train with my Home Defense shotgun.

Well, if you find it on Google Maps, right click and chose "what's here" it will give you GPS coords. Let me know the coords and I can add it to the maps. Also with a strong note to 'clean up yer crap'

I checked the range map, and I saw the note! That should get their attention!

Thought you would like that! Thanks for sharing the spot too, and thanks for taking the actions needed to help keep it clean!

How long a "range" is this? Can one get 100 yards? More?
Looked at Google Earth and it appears to be narrow with a "pit" at the end. Can one shoot the full distance or only in the "pit area"?

I've only been there twice, but it appears to be about 50 or so yards, I would need to measure it first. It could be more though.
And there's a somewhat steep hillside at the far end, and targets can be placed high up on the slope to get extra distance.
There's logs stacked up at the entrance to keep people from dragging cars, refrigerators, large TV's, and other stuff inside.
I can imagine that someone could set up a shooting area either on the logs, or right on the other side.

As some of you already know, I went shooting on Monday, and I could see that someone had just been there(perhaps over the weekend?) and they left some shells, and some garbage. I don't know if beer bottles/cans and stuffed teddy bears are considered garbage, but when left right in the way, it get's annoying.
I talked to my Dad about going up there and doing some cleaning, he thinks just Him and I can do it, but I figured that if 1 or 2 additional people were up there, we could get it done faster. Not to mention we all could do some shooting after the cleaning is done!
Maybe I can convince him to consider letting "outsiders"(as he calls them) come and give us a hand. Not to mention that once it's clean, it will be easy to keep clean. I don't think a truckload of rednecks are going to show up with a dozen broken TV's and 10,000 rounds of ammo, and fill up that place again.
According to my current schedule, the next time I can go again would be either Nov. 5th or 7th, maybe I could go sooner. Although I don't need to be up there if someone near there wants to take a look at things.

I could probably come up there on the 5th. I was planning on going to the south end shoot, but the Oso pit is a lot closer to my place.
