Good Place to Shoot this Month ?

I have to move to California at the end of June and I am hoping to exhaust my supply of .45 and .308 ammo before having to fix or surrender my magazines. I tried to use the range map and had no luck - range shut down. Also hear some pretty unsettling stories about ricochets, ranges near bike paths, ranges with drunk people, etc. I would gladly join a range if I didn't have to pay $400/year and if they allowed me to shoot .308...

Not trying to complain - I just haven't been able to find a solution... Do you know of any good ranges or places to shoot that are currently open? I pick up after myself and am happy to pick up after other people. Seems like people leaving trash is the biggest problem.

Thanks --

This may be too far south for you but check out Evergreen Sportsman’s Club. A safe, clean and reasonably priced range that is open to the public. Annual membership fee (not required to shoot) is $75.00.

Thanks ! Not too far south. Still open to closer places but this is a great baseline for me. Some Sportsman's Clubs closer to me but it's really hard to navigate the rules/membership processes - gave up after a few hours of reading.

You can shoot at Renton Fish & Game as a non-member; it will cost you $14, and you can shoot both .308 and .45.

There are also public shoot days at Cascade (https://www.cascadeshootingfacilities.o ... ting-days/), where you can shoot rifle but generally not pistol.

Don't shoot up all your ammo. May want to save the last round.

But seriously, if you're actually in Seattle proper, areas around Sultan or Snoqualmie Pass would be the closest public land shooting for you. North Fork Snoqualmie River is geographically close, but it's a slooooow drive.

Or maybe Greenwater, but get your affairs in order before you go. And bring a plate carrier. And a helmet. And an armored car.

Ah Renton is even closer, thanks.

I tried to find a gravel pit in Sultan with no luck. Ended up in a remote residential area - people walking to their screen doors and staring wondering who was intruding all the way out there - hah ! Mildly threatening but I understand having grown up in a similar place.
