So are the Rangers to blame for littering and illegal dumping?

they could be, but theres no reason to close the gate. especially since you can shoot there still.

They heard someone was going to take a big dump in the Woods up there today and closed the Gate.

Are you talking about FS 7013?

It was closed when we did our cleanup a few weeks ago too, and they said it was because the parking lot was too muddy so they wanted to keep people out.

Yeah that gate has been closed for a while now . The forest service wanted to give the ground time to soak up all the water. Having people driving in the mud would only make it worse. Doesn’t seem to be stopping anybody from shooting there though. If anything it’s making the gravel pit up the road even more packed. I was there last Sunday and there were 5 people there at 6am.

I also pointed out to the forest service that gate is not even necessary anymore since the elk area is no longer accessible or near the shooting area.

if they would have left it the way it was , there wouldn't have been a issue , yet they do nothing every year and they know it happens.

they only improved it for 2 -3 months a year and the rest of the 9 months people go shoot in areas they shouldn't. They aren't the solution but the cause

but from the looks of it. Someone is going to be harvesting all the wood from 410 to the lower area. I see the undergrowth stripped last year and now more tags on trees. so we might not even have access
