I bought this today: It's a "Whippet" build from a 1926 Remington Model 11, and came with a 29-inch full choke barrel as well . . . just in case usrifle needs an ass-whuppin' on the trap field. I had never seen one of these before, but I thought it was really cool-looking . . . and then I watched "The Highwaymen" on Netflix about the hunt for Bonnie and Clyde, and they used guns like this. It was all over at that point, I had to have it.

I was under the impression that a “Whippet” was in referance to a long gun that was cut down to be easily concealed in the “Gangster” era. ( not to be confused with Gangsta)
Anyways that fricking cool Steve, BTW how cool would it be if we could walk into a gunstore and buy Firearms like Costner’s character in The Highwaymen?

Makes sense, as I think that's basically what this us. Cut way back to . . . 18.5". zombie66 wrote: Anyways that fricking cool Steve, BTW how cool would it be if we could walk into a gunstore and buy Firearms like Costner’s character in The Highwaymen? No kidding. "I'll take one of those and 1,000 rounds, one of those and 1,000 rounds, a Tommy gun, and that machine rifle over there. And 1,000 rounds." And the clerk replied, "Very good, sir. Please show me your certificate of training, and I'll see you in 10 days!"

I will tell you what I told EvilGnomez: Build a time machine. Go back 50-60 years in South Vietnam. Seek out a MACV-SOG operative and tell him he shouldn`t be carrying an AK. That it is Blasphemy. Once this is completed, walk outside the area and begin feeling around the ground searching for your head.

I didn't clean it or lube it, just changed the barrel and went with it. It was absolutely flawless and a total joy to shoot for maybe 100 rounds, then it started failing to eject. *shrug* I'll clean it and lube it, then take it out again.
