This is probably my best C&R score ever. It's a Century Arms monthly special Izhevsk M44 made in 1948. Re-arsenaled, excellent bore, all matching numbers - $45 including shipping. I should have bought more.

Nice....I've pretty much divested myself of all the Mosins I had, still got a couple. I bought one of the 50 dollar "unissued" M44's from Century...I got a Polish Radom armory rifle that looked brand new, the bluing and wood finish looked almost commercial, nicest M44 I have ever seen. sold it a bit back for 500.

Two Czech VZ-24 rifles . . . the top with a Rhineland arms conversion to shoot .45 Auto and use 1911 mags, and with a threaded barrel . . . the lower rifle in the original 8mm Mauser configuration:

I just spent 2 hours looking at gorgeous photos catching up on this thread.

My oldest bolt action is a 1931 Winchester Model 54 with a '57 Lyman Peep and Ought -06 caliber. I believe 1935 was the last year the M54 was made before being replaced by the M70. The ONLY difference was the drop plate added in in M70. With the M54, you have to shuck your corn to empty the chamber.
Glass action. I can't believe these aren't fetching more cash than a Pre-64 M70.

I sold a 1925 first year model , actually traded, for a Ruger 1979 .44 Magnum. The reason I traded was the 1925 M54 wasn't as accurate as the 1931 year I have shown here. They were twins, but I really wanted another Ruger 44 Magnum carbine.

Captured upon 1939 German invasion of Czechoslovakia. Taken to German Army depot, refitted (to be more like a 98k) and reissued to Wehrmacht soldier.
1. Wrist sling deleted and plugged with wood.

Czech VZ24 JC in 7mm. The story on that they are a special light weight version (known as VZ24 JC) ordered in 1930 by China. They were ordered in 8mm Mauser but China did not pay for the rifle. 1932 Brno re-barreled them to 7mm Mauser and sold 15,000 of them to the Brazilian Sao Paulo Revolutionaries during the Brazilian Civil War.

They were either intercepted or captured by the Brazilian government. Used by Brazilian Military Police.

The Swedish Mauser's are my favorites! I used to have quite a few, including a gorgeous M41b Sniper with Ajax scope.

You fellas have posted some nice Danzig and Suhl Mausers- love those Swedes as well.

The double set triggers on those Steyr Mannlichers are always a treat. That particular rifle is the best of the 3 that I own, it also kicks the hardest!
