Gun shows can be great therapy for your addiction, I suggest you go often.

Yeah, that's how it started for me. I got my first taste of a little 22 as a kid and got hooked. I went from playing with some 9's with my friends, you know, 'just to fit in'....but it got worse.

Eventually I got into some 223's, a single shot 30-30, and a big 303. Not long after I was combing hock shops and newspapers for 12 gauges and a loaded '06. I was strung out. I did anything to get my fix. Some things I'm not proud of. It cost me girlfriends and family members. I barely made it through......

Thanks guys! My last purchase for a while is going to be a .22 auto. Im leaning ruger 22/45, but nothing set yet.... everything I start to look I get sidetracked by some other brand and model... Basically want something fun and cheap to shoot that my wife and kids eventually can get in on the fun...

22/45 is a perfect starter. A Walther P22 is also a great idea.

Cool. THat was on the list too at one time. A friend has a S&W 22a and I shot it and it was fun, and its also pretty cheap, so I was on the path to get one. Then I started doing some research and since I was getting the Kimber, discovered the Ruger 22/45. It was also higher rated than the 22a. Then of course the Browning buckmark comes up and it was a 3 way research battle between the 3. For cost its the 22a, for reliability and cool "like a 45" is the 22/45, but then the browning is supposed to have the best trigger and easier to work on than the 22/45. So in an endless loop and no $ I put it on hold.. then looking another time, I was shown a sig mosquito and the feel was perfect, and very similar to my bersa so I thought it would be good for teaching my wife shooting since the 9mm intimidated her. Of course if you look at the sig, you have to look at the walther p22. Honestly the p22 is too small for me and the sig has a horrible history according to interwebbe postings. So I think Im back to the 22/45 since its so tried and true and has much more tinkering options. I should have bought that threaded barrel version that cascade arms had a few weeks ago... Really it will come down to how much more $ i can save by the time I want to pull the trigger.

I have a 22/45 that you are free to try out. It's not stock though lol.

go with the ruger for the .22 pistol, you wont regret it IMO.

Thanks guys! The bersa is sweet, really fits me well. I had a bad barrel and once that was replaced it had ran perfcect. Shells were getting stuck and not extracting.

The ruger does seem to be the most advised one. Cascade arms gave me a quote for a good price on the RG version, i just need a little more $ in hand. Probably next payday
