I went back about 15 pages, and did not see a general AK thread.

I want ideas on what to do to this pile of shit. I was thinking of finding some black laminate wood. Or maybe go for some pulled surplus wood.

Ideas? Post your AKs for inspiration.

Iron wood or Krebs may have what you are looking for.

I like Surplus wood for the fact that it's "Surplusy" and got that Combloc flavor...

I can't read the stamping...who made that AK? Also...what magazines are those? They look like Circle 10s...but clearly aren't.

ETA: I'd change the stock out (side folding surplus wire stock or AR stock adapter+MagPul MOE)...depending on the quality of that lower railed handguard - I'd keep it...otherwise, I'd go Bulgarian (heat shield) via K-Var or LHV-47 via TDI Arms (tri-rail).

Its an IO INC USA made variant. The "club foot" style stocks don't really look good on anything other than RPKs.

I'm kinda digging the battlefield pick-up look, may have to go back to the Commie laminated plywood on my Romanian AK
