Badclam, I love that collection! What a fantastic description of each of them, too.

Long time AK collector. If it's not related to Kalashnikovs, I couldn't tell you much :) I may be on an adjacent corner in the country, but work can bring me your way. 1951 Soviet Type 2. The T2 was the first, fully milled receiver AK put into production part way through the year, replacing the Type 1. Pics show a bit of the progression as I received it from a cut up parts kit, to being rewelded by Matt Yeamans, cleaned and reshaped here, and I prepped for reblue. I also marked the selector markings based off two museum examples. There is not a complete standard stamped font on these early rifles because the stamping came many years later when a reblue would obliterate the original shallow markings. An original would actually have hand scratched lettering, but since this one was refurbished at an Arsenal at some point, as indicated by a stamped serial number, I went with the stamped lettering. I blued this in the shop, and distressed the finish to bring it in line with the wood condition. East German Mpi-AK-74 200 part kits were imported a few years ago by desert fox. I ordered a 74uLLC receiver without selector markings. NOS East German 5.45 barrel has been in storage for 10 years waiting for kit imports. Rifle components are original finish. Rivet work, selector markings, parkerize of receiver and barrel, and distressing to match existing components done here at the shop. East German 4x24 ZFK scope. Date code on scope shows 1989 production. Rifle is also dated 1989. East German rifle manual along with a very rare ZFK armorers manual sourced from Germany. This is the only ZFK armorers manual I have ever seen. Reproduction radiation decal I produced from original photos. Almost all were removed before Arsenal liquidation because the tritium vials had been pulled.

My AK74 has been DE-Centuryed The barrel fix did not come at a cost... Sometimes tools slip and ears get buggered.
