Thanks for that. I've heard about applying oil: once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year... no?

I think that was when the army used to dip them in Linseed Oil, not BLO BLO isn't the same thing, has acid in it, makes it dry faster. If BLO is dry it's good to go in my experience. Gobs of it will dry too, then you have to get out the sandpaper and remove the dried clumps. Maintain a light coating. Heard rumors that dry rags or paper with BLO could spontaneously combust, but having left them by my fireplace for a week or so was unable to make it happen. H&R Springfield 1873 Officers Carbine Trapdoor 45-70 (very fun to shoot) gun show find. Light cleaning with 0000 wool, X6 with BLO. Didn't touch the checkering with wool, looked good the way it was (dark) and refining checkering is a PITA. Last time I posted a pic, had 6 guys PM who were interested in buying it.

What a coincidence! I held the CZ (that model) yesterday at the local gun store. Way heavier than the tupperware I'm used to hefting but a verrrry nice balance and trigger.
But with an $1100 price tag (give or take). I'm thinking both guns equate to the same amount of money invested as pictured?
I think I'd still go for the production/race gun CZ. (I already have GLOCK)
