No accident, the scope is offset to allow the massive bolt to draw back into the stock relief. It's a State Arms .50bmg match built by the late Klaus Horstkamp. When I bought it the rifle had been sprayed black with some rough texture and the barrel was a crappy dull matte blue. I polished the barrel and stripped down the stock to reveal a beautiful Ironwood/Ebony hunter style stock. Also contacted Larry at State Arms and he sent me out some new legs for the bipod that incorporated the sled style feet. Unfortunately the rifle didn't like Mil ammo as it was a match chamber and I didn't have the time to invest in a .50bmg loading setup and work up a suitable load. So it goes in the "used to own" category. Fun rifle though, quite the conversation piece at the range.

Holy Shit! I had no idea it was a 50BMG The original photo was a bit deceiving. But very nice either way.

Not a real gun, but it was a day that I will remember forever. Spent an afternoon with my wife's 90 year old Grandpa, who was a sharp shooter in WW2. Heard a ton of stories, and watched a man who has a slight shake and horrible eye sight still shoot ping pong balls off of beer bottles.

My Mom cleaned out the attic in her place and found my old Red Ryder BB gun that I got on my 8th Birthday. She stashed it up there when I was around the age of 14 when she found a bunch of dead birds buried under a mound of dirt in my yard. Got it back last night, brings back memories.

Wow, so that had been stashed away for over 40 years! Awesome.
