I didn't have all the whizbang tools so I brought it to a friend's house who's built about 20 ARs (he owns 11)
He walked me through it and then he threw in some spare parts like the magpul grip, blue accent takedown pins and mag release/trigger guard and slapped a gunfighter BCM charging handle.
I test fired and zero'd the flip up sight and managed to zero it in 5 shots at 50 yards 2 days before christmas.
THen wrapped it up in a box and stuck it under the tree.
Needless to say the grin on his face Xmas morning was priceless.
This was a very economical build costing a total of $358 (Black Friday score $299.99 for kit minus lower and $58 for the lower, free shipping....not including a couple 30 rd mags) and a learning experience for me!
I gave him the case because I don't use it anymore.
He's going to put a Red Dot and probably a magpul forearm and stock on it eventually. Barbie dolls for men! Dress 'em up!
