Yup, that’s a beauty! Do you shoot it much?

Is that an original sling too?

It is an original M1907 sling, Don't know if it is original to the rifle. I shoot it every time I go to the range 4 groove Barrel, It is a sweet shooter 1 inch 5 shot group at 100 yards using the Battle Sight. I inherited this from my uncle, and will be inheriting an M1 Garand and an M1 Carbine from him as well.

It was shooting from a rest sitting on a bench while wearing my seeing eyeball glasses. I was on the Sportsmans Range at JBLM.

Nice rifle! My eyes prefer the 03A3 sights these days

That is super nice! Those early Remingtons are a great piece of history. I may have the parts to replace those you mentioned. PM me if interested. Or nothing wrong with keeping the way your uncle had it.

My Uncle did things right for the most part. He bought 4 '03 Springfields from the early CMP Program in the early '60 for $10 each. he bought 2 M1 Carbines (that was the CMP Limit on them at the time). He bought 1 '03A3 and ruined it by shortening the Barrel 2 inches, putting a god awful stock on it, did away with the stock sights and put a scope on it. Then he bought a Garand from CMP. on of the Carbines and the Garand will be living in my Gun Safe before too long. I love these Milsurp Guns, A springfield was the first gun I shot in my life (in Boot Camp) the second was a Garand, the third was an M1Carbine.
