I like the AMDs because they have just enough proprietary parts in just the right places to make one off custom builds easy.

There are aftermarket risers but yeah. It`s surprisingly comfortable as-is though.

I did a rivet build on one once, i don't have it anymore. The comment about 30 rd mags with them is Legit too. I am very familiar with the AK platform and rapid mag changes take some practice with the forward grip. My favorite AK i have beyond an Arsenal is my ACC/Intrac Maadi ARM. Closest thing you will ever find to a Soviet AKM. PolyTech mags with chrome followers are stupid priced, as well as the Egyptian ones. If you need one to match a Rifle, great. When I opened that package, all sounds for a two miles radius ceased. Behold! An un-fired, un-molested AK has blessed you with it's presence. I looked off into the distance and saw that our colors were still flying. For a moment there I had been transported through time and space of 69 years of wars & battles, fathers and sons grinding metal to fit folding stocks, and the long history of the AK-47 was then present right there before me. Quiet, un-assuming history.
