During this and last year's NY Shoot, lots of people shot my Mosin Nagant, and several asked about how it got built. Another WaGunner, Brian did the actual build, I just traded it for it a few years ago, so none of this is my work.

Here's his build post if you want to read about it: https://www.waguns.org//viewtopic.php?f ... =archangel

Here are the parts broken down by cost:

Archangel 10 round Magazine $18.29
Archangel 5 round magazine $15.29
Archangel Stock & 10 round magazine $175.00
Bipod $32.97
Mosin Nagant $150.00
Muzzle brake $83.98
Nikon scope $324.99
Rock Solid Industries Scope mount $100.00
Timney trigger $102.99
------------------------------------------------------------------
Total: $1,003.51

Gratuitous picture of Rita shooting it:

Oh. I thought this was going to be another Cabelas thread.

It's a nice build David. Even Lydia fired off a couple rounds I hear. :) Great pic of Rita too. :wagwoot:

I was at the Cabelas in Lacey this week. They had two full racks of Mosin's. All for sale at $399.00 each. FYI.

Is that really a mosin, still?

Reminds me of the farmer that claimed he had his great grandaddy's axe. Handle had been replaced 7 times, and the head had been replaced twice. Still his great grandaddy's axe, though.

Most people don't include the cost of the scope.

Will you go $250?

Nice to see other fun guns. I love it when I hear complaints about how its not a mosin with all that stuff on it. lol, I never bought the parts to put on a mosin; I bought a mosin to put on the parts. Once you understand that fully, you can begin to appreciate the fun project it was. I love this beast. Its so crazy big.(~52"/four and a half foot almost.) I am on my second scope (bottom pic) which was annoying. I dont think I have a full grand into it though. However, I almost want to buy a can for it. Just to make it even bigger and stupider. lol

Dude. It wasn't a complaint.

What made you go straight to the negative?

I was having a bit of fun.

I like fun guns and crazy guns too. Might even have built a couple my own self.

I'd like to see the can that would work on one of these cannons! Probably have to weigh as much as the rest of the rifle.

Took mine to a shoot. Everyone was sharing their guns around so that everyone could get the experience of firing the different ones.

Shot mine three times. Absolutely no takers! LOL BOOM!

I wasn't quoting or directing towards anyone. I've just heard my share of those kind of comments on mine here and other places. My point was simply that despite any negative feedback one gets, its a blast to shoot. :)

I admit that a portion of my desire to build this was about both the large caliber that (was) cheap and how stupid long it was going to end up. I think thats what feeds my desire for a can: it would help push this to over 5 feet long. :D
