If anyone lives in Vancouver,wa and wants to apply for and Oregon ccp just go over to Multnomah county and do it I did and sha bang they gave me one (personally I think the compelling letter is against your constituional rights) but hey just be honest if anyone wants a good letter I think mine is so anyway just ask I have it saved I can eamil it to ya.
You should also get your Utah permit but then I always go over board on most things .

PS it's only $65.25 in Mult co.

So, 18 minutes for submitting application, fingerprinting and photo and I was out of there.

Not bad at all.

My situation was unique as I may had "work" as an instructor over there (never did pan out)...

But here is their info... (hint hint)

Quote:
At the time of application to the Sheriff’s Office for processing you will be photographed and fingerprinted, all applicable fees will be collected, and you will be required to present TWO pieces of identification. One piece of identification must be a valid and current picture-identification.

Active military personnel are exempt from personally appearing to process their applications. A copy of your current Oregon Driver License with a Columbia County address, the renewal fee, and a current completed application can be mailed to the Sheriff's Office for processing.

Washington residents may also qualify for CHL through Columbia County if they regularly travel to or through our county. See special instructions below.

I wrote that I travelled to specific resturants and parks while on vacation. Spent money and time in the county.

That's a great one. I used that exact example of $$$ in the county and in Oregon.

I travel on vacation and work meetings to Oregon. I also had a venture at looking at teaching and doing some instruction at the local PD range (never panned out) but it was in my letter.

Keep it basic and to the point. Highlight the travel and being a law abiding citizen.
