I noticed today that some rust is forming on the tip of my gun. I carry it every day IWB, and I'm wondering if the hot weather is leading to excess sweat getting on it, in turn leading to rust. Anyone dealt with this?

I haven't had it happen, but I've heard of it happening to others.
Yep, you might just need to clean it regularly and keep it oiled . . . or just hit it with CLP once in a while.

Tons of options, but yeah...just something to coat it (CLP, grease, whatever) would be easiest.
Neoprene + Kydex IWB holster that covers the muzzle would be useful. Leather and nylon both wick.

Women don't fart either.
That noise is almost always caused by barking spiders.

And this is why most folks don't carry $3k Les Baers. Carry wear happens. A little rough patch hear, some holster wear there. Nothing to worry about. What you can do is keep a lightly oiled rag wherever you put your carry pistol when you take it off at night. Give the gun a quick wipe(especially in areas of concern) then leave the pistol in the rag for the night.
The trick is not to have a sopping oily rag. Just enough to put a thin layer on when wiped. It shouldn't make the metal look wet, just clean.

Sweat has lots of salt in it and is highly corrosive. I've heard it recommend that you should wipe your carry gun down with a light clp or oil once a month tor prevent rust.

Keeps it all oiled up. platz wrote: Frog lube works wonders on rust prevention. And it smells minty fresh. Yes it helps nt keeping a light film of oil on the slide will whlp even more.
