LEOs quit

Tue Jul 31, 2018 5:48 pm

Town's entire police force resigns
" the town is asking officers to patrol in cars that have no a/c (air conditioning), no snow tires, and no four-wheel drive...They are asking us to do this with no radio coverage, no real backup if needed, and all for $14 or $15 an hour. Would you put your lives on the line in these conditions?”
"Sarnacki also said that multiple police cruisers were having issues with their brakes and the department's bulletproof vests were past their expiration date."

I do feel for the LEO's. I really do. It sounds like the towns priorities arent quite towards keeping the LEO's happy. But I do think an important note is this is a town of ~1,200 people. Not exactly a lot of money coming in. granted somethings like getting vests that fit properly and vehicle maintenance shouldnt cost ALL that much.

I do applaud these people and hope the township realizes they need ot put some money into law enforcement even if its a low crime area (i know nothing of the area)

Buddy of mine is a 10 year LE veteran in TN, joined the Marine Corps just after 911 while he was in High School, left as a Sergeant.
He only makes about $17/hr.
I told him what metro cops make out here, but he said he couldn't afford to buy a house and live here.
