I once got a free meal when an Asian owner of a teriyaki restaurant saw I was open carrying. He came out of the kitchen, shook my hand, thanked me and insisted I not pay for my meal. That was quite unexpected to say the least. He told me he was very proud to be a recent immigrant to America, enjoying his new country and new freedoms. Carry on.

All i can say is it follows the same reason in many states where deer, elk and other animals hunted must be carried covered. You are fighting a VOTING battle not a battle of RIGHTS. Every time you carry open the VOTERS are reminded of what they would have forgotten. Puff your chest and make statements like "no one can tell me not to," will eventually turn the tides. Why remind them?

I like to see open carry. It gives me a chance to strike up some interesting conversation, and I've cultivated some good shooting buddies that way.

That being said....

Sir...I really, truly hope you don't put that one to the test. Get caught with your CCW inside a Tribal Casino, and it can be an instant gross misdemeanor. since it's firearms related, it can also lead to loss of your CPL.

Not worth it.

That's then problem I have is that 95% of the time I am going somewhere where it is illegal to carry.

Anyone here ever open carry their AR pistol? I've considered it...

I would say this, I would only carry openly in a security holster, at least level one.

Thinkin' 'bout breakin' out the Safariland 295 (lvl 2) and takin' the G19 for a spin...

Nope. Asshats at the Capital did that and got the viewing area closed down to open carry. Don’t be an asshat.

I am in Arlington as well, and from the description of his travels it sounds as though DoveRelease and I are neighbors. I will be sure to say howdy if I ever spot you. Are you by any chance related to the sign about releasing doves that I see over by the Red Robin adjacent to Target/Costco/Best Buy in Smokey Point?

Those are my signs, I have two over on Pioneer Hwy in Silvans by the river, one on 67th Ave and one at our house on Highland Drive. I made more of them dove cutouts and got them paintedon up. Just need time to go hang them up.

With all the bullshit going on in Seattle I am seeing more open carry up here in snohomish and skagit counties.

I think I will start taking my Glock 17 for awhile.
