Sen. Chuck Schumer said Sunday that the legislation would require the bureau to set standards on who would be eligible to purchase bullet-resistant vests and other body armor.

I see the .gov move to ban a purely defensive tool like body armor as an even more egregious offense than trying to ban actual weapons. That they would deem items made exclusively for personal protection a threat to public safety shows just how truly warped and consumed with their own power these tyrants really are.

I think the NIJ certs just underwent a new iteration. 0101.06 is becoming .07.

The back stock of .06 armor might bring some deals? I don't think the newest standards bring greater resistance to penetration, but more resistance to heat/moisture/ etc.
