Prop 63 goes into effect January 1st. Sad faces in the New New Mexico. Start stocking up; with the D majority in the state senate you know they will start pushing for similar laws here. Older article here http://blog.defenderoutdoors.com/califo ... n=12012017

Better buy ammo a week before wanting to go shooting now. Just in case your background check gets delayed.

30,000,000 or so people being outright denied any meaningful 2A protections.
These encroachments are over the top. When are Californians gonna stand up?

These encroachments are over the top. When are Californians gonna stand up? They won't stand up, clearly the majority chose that Proposition and there you go. That's California. Washington isn't far behind unfortunately, We are in a bad position right now.

4th Generation Native Californian here. Glad to have escaped and even though still have family there I will never move back due to the statist politics driven by the granola munching crowd. It's really unfortunate as the state is otherwise very beautiful and full of amazing recreational opportunities. But in general, screw California and really wish we could vote to eject them from the Union due to the fact that their politics are totally incompatible with the rest of the United States in general.
Sorry to hear about the Dem super majority in Oregon and now majority in Washington. California, New York, Connecticut, and now more recently Oregon gives a pretty good preview of what can be expected when the Dems rule the roost with large majorities. Basically just a gradual, slippery slope with ever increasing restrictions and limitations of 2A rights.
I've been considering eventually moving back to Washington but have to say now that the Dems have a sweep on the Governor's mansion and the legislature that really tempers my enthusiasm.
Have to say it's great living in a Red state for a change. Texas is a bit hot for my taste though. Will eventually move to Salt Lake City as that is also a solid red state and a growing tech hub with great skiing, rock climbing, and shooting sports. Looks like a great location to work for the last ten or fifteen years of my tech career.

Can't believe it. Like if bad guys care. They will get guns and ammo anyway. I guess this will just make it expensive.

There is no background check. Law is bad enough without FUD and other embellishments.

I doubt the NICS system is really set up for this.

The FBI can barely keep up with the NICS checks they are required by federal law to perform; there's no way they have the resources - much less the legal obligation - to do frivolous checks required by state laws. Maybe the CA DOJ will do the BGCs for the ammo...? In which case you have to wonder how complete their records are compared to the FBI's records, which we already know are full of holes.
